Paziols

The wine growing village of Paziols, with cafe and shop, is 35 minutes from Perpignan airport,1hr 15 from Carcassonne and 1 hour 50 minutes from Montpellier. It is perfect for a peaceful, relaxing holiday in rural France. Tennis, river swimming, Cathar castles and wine tasting all within easy reach.

The House

The ground floor comprises a spacious open plan living/dining/kitchen, leading onto the garden with BBQ, al fresco eating area and pool (8m x 4m). There is also a hall, utility room with toilet and washing machine. The first floor comprises one large double with bath and shower en suite, landing with toilet and large child 's bedroom/study and the second floor comprise one large en suite double bedroom with shower, one small double bedroom, one small twin and a third bathroom with shower.

The spacious garden is walled and divided into two parts, with the pool in a separate walled gated area. Two outdoor eating areas, hammock, loungers, outdoor sofa and armchairs. Wonderful views from the garden and house, including the castle of Aguilar, hills and limestone massif. Fine walking directly from the house. Tennis court and Pétanque within 3 minutes walk. Very well equipped shop, cafe, at least three winemakers all within 5 minutes walk.

Facililities

Our housekeeper will prepare the house, including making up all the beds. We provide all linen and bathroom towels, guests need to bring swimming towels. The house has wifi, a french tv and video recorder, and telephone with free landline calls in Europe. The kitchen is equipped with a large fridge with freezer, dishwasher, microwave, food processor, electric whisk, oven with grill and hob. There is a fridge for drinks by the pool and a washing machine in the downstairs cloakroom. There are games and books. Two barbecues, one gas one. Plentiful sun loungers and outdoor furniture. We leave tennis rackets and balls for visitors. There are bicycles. Double garage adjacent to house. The house is non smoking. All fuel and power included.

Background

We bought the house 6 years ago for 3 generations to enjoy family holidays. We chose the area because it has the highest sunshine record and very low rainfall. There are practically no mosquitos probably helped by some windy days. We have very much enjoyed getting to know the area, walking, exploring the gorges, lovely river swimming and tasting the wines.

Availability and Prices

July to middle of September £2200 per week, from £1000 a week out of high season. The pool has a heat exchanger so it is warm from middle of April to end of October.

Booking

Payment details - 25% deposit is required to secure your reservation and the remaining 75% is to be paid 4 weeks before arrival, either in Euro or Sterling.
